The Jackson Blazer

A voice for the community

“We have buried more young people in the last 5 years than we have in the previous last 50 years”, said Pastor Lee Hampton last Friday evening as The Church of God launched Strong Foundations, Strong Future.

“There’s a gap with the young people today regarding their moral foundation and their character and the community is suffering because of it. The prisons are being  filled up, school drop outs are an all-time high, teenage pregnancy, many are addicted to drugs even before high school. We don’t want to just sit back and write off this generation, we want to do something about it,” commented Hampton.

“Right now we are lauching a new initiative, Strong Foundation, Strong Future,  that’s basically a  character school. We believe that if a child is given a strong moral foundation with character they can build a successful future.”
